Mr. Wendell Masters was admitted to Christian Care of Unicoi County for rehabilitation following a complex medical course that included bilateral lower extremity cellulitis, acute kidney failure, congestive heart failure, peripheral vascular disease, and a history of smoking.

Upon admission, Mr. Masters presented with significant muscle weakness and required supplemental oxygen to maintain adequate oxygen saturation.

Throughout Wendell's stay, respiratory care played a key role in his recovery. Care included close monitoring of his respiratory status, oxygen therapy management, patient education, and collaboration with nursing and therapy services to support overall rehabilitation goals.

Consistent assessment and gradual titration of oxygen support led to Mr. Masters steady improvement in respiratory function and endurance. As strength and mobility increased, oxygen requirements decreased. Prior to discharge, he was successfully weaned off supplemental oxygen and maintained stable oxygen saturation on room air.

Wendell's outcome reflects the effectiveness of coordinated interdisciplinary care and highlights the impact of respiratory therapy in improving patient independence and quality of life. He was discharged home without needing oxygen, demonstrating significant clinical progress from admission.
